triplet in triumph of France 8-0
on Luxembourg. He had an
outstanding performance in the
World Cup of 1958, getting 13
goals in 6 games

1958 soccer World Cup.
Altogether, Fontaine scored 165
goals in 200 matches in Ligue 1,
and won twice the championship
at 1958 and 1960.2 Fontaine was
able to score from any position,
with both feet and head.
FIFA named it one of the best 125
footballers in history in March
2004. He was also chosen as the
best French footballer in the last  Position: Was Front
50 years by the French Football
Federation in 2003.
