6. Choreographed Dance: ‘Fireman Sam’ by The C. R. S. Players

To develop coordination and control of the whole body through joining in with the actions (including spinning, pointing, stretching and gesture)

To engage in the body tension activity of stretching

To learn about fireman and how they help us
To dance in time with the music
To pretend to be fire fighters
Dance aims
Body Awareness
To observe the choreography shown by the teacher and recreate it with own body
To improve coordination by joining in with the complex choreography during the chorus
To pretend to be firemen putting out fires
Motor Skills
To practise several gross motor skills including stretching, waving, turning and walking
To dance in time with the music
Strength and Fitness
To improve cardiovascular fitness through performing a high energy dance
7. Action Song: ‘Miss Polly Had a Dolly’ (traditional)
Miss Polly had a dolly who was sick, sick, sick,
So she called for the doctor to come quick, quick, quick. The doctor came with his bag and his hat,
And he knocked on the door with a rat-a-tat-tat.
He looked at the dolly and he shook his head, He said “Miss Polly, put her straight to bed!” He wrote on a paper for some pills, pills, pills. “I’ll be back in the morning with my bill, bill, bill.”
