7. Action Song: ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’ (traditional)
Sing the song and perform the actions as indicated. Make sure to sing slowly enough for the children to keep up with the movements.
Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes, Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes, And eyes and ears and mouth and nose,
Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes.
Everyone takes out their imaginary remote controls and presses slow motion. Perform the song slowly. Everyone takes out their remote controls again and presses fast forward. Perform the song quickly.

8. Working with props: ‘Shake Your Body’ (unknown)
Get the children into a circle by singing ‘Let’s Make a Circle’. Hand each child an egg shaker. Everyone says the rhyme and does the actions as indicated.
Shake your body, shake, shake your body, Shake your body, shake, shake your body. You turn around.
You touch the ground.
You touch your waist. You boogie down.
Everyone sits down in the circle. Choose one child to go into the middle and perform the actions on their own while the other children shake their shakers to the pulse. Insert the chosen child’s name into the poem (e.g. ‘Choi, you turn around. Choi, you touch the ground...’). Repeat until each child has had a turn. If you have a larger group, two children can go together (e.g. ‘Matilda and Hans, you turn around...’). Alternatively, make sure that children who miss a go are given a turn next week.
