C2.6 Soft Landscaping Section One
1 Required Features of Landscape Designs:
All works to be in accordance with Mansfield
King Design Ltd ‘McDonalds Purely Simple soft 1.1 Integrate feature planting beds to key
landscape specification - Part 2 Horticultural locations in areas surrounding the restaurant,
Standards June 2009’. to complement the improved appearance of
each restaurant.
Local Authority consent required for all tree
works including crown lifting and removal. 1.2 Improve sightlines into each site where
LPA approval required for significant low level possible by the reduction in the height of
landscape changes. mature planting within the existing landscaping
scheme.

1.3 Improve the appearance of existing planting
within the site boundaries by pruning and
re-mulching of planting beds.

1.4 Consider replacing areas of poor or failed
planting with cultivated turf.

1.5 All existing trees within the site are to be
retained (appropriate arboricultural work
to be carried out if required by qualified
arboriculturalist)**there are exceptions if store
visibility is severely restricted.

2 General Design Considerations

2.1 Design proposals are to be site specific.

2.2 The purpose of a good landscape scheme is
to provide that which is necessary to successfully
integrate a development into its localised area.

2.3 The landscape scheme should aim to
reflect and where possible enhance the local
environment.
