P. 207

Resplendent as the sun above;
                Twelve gates are open for all those who search,
                   Guarding each gate is an angel of God.
                                3
                     The brightness of the light of God,
                     His Holiness holds up your walls,
                      Therefore you shine, eternally,
                      It's ever daytime in your halls,
                  There is no need for the sun or the moon,
                      Its luminary is Jesus the Lord.
                                4
                      Oh, what a joy t'will be to stand
                    Within your gates, before the Lord;
                   Living in peace, where death is naught,
                     Where life will never fade again;
                    We'll never suffer, or mourn any loss,
                  The Lamb of God will be our everything.
                                5
                         Jerusalem, a new city,
                     His Holiness has filled your halls,
                    Those who are evil, speak many lies,
                    Won't have a chance to enter there;
                   Only the truthful, the just, and the kind
                Whose names are written in God's book of life.
                    287.  OUR LORD JESUS

                    Our Lord Jesus has made a promise,
                   To all the faithful who keep His words;
                  A crown embellished with gold and jewels,
                    For those who follow after His steps.
                             CHORUS
                  Most precious dwellings, He is preparing,
                     The finest garments are prepared;
                  For all the faithful who wish to see his face,
                     And overcome all their trials here.
