LOTW Praxedis Alonso I Ps 5,1 ELECTION / 1 Co 1553 GRACE
Long ages transpired, yet His word is true,
The life-giving tree flourished once again;
A tree God uprooted out of Eden's bounds,
Save a single tree branch, just a single tree rod;
That within this branchlet God's virtue bestowed.
CHORUS
The Word of God, is set as law,
Once man has perished, he shall have life;
Lo, Aaron's rod, a gift of God,
Now it has flourished, here in our land.
2
Now hearken to these words of the loving God,
Each soul that I cherish no one takes away;
Though the winds of peril rage a wicked storm,
I have conquered this world; and this world could never,
Snatch these souls from my hands, for the souls are mine.
3
Come soul who is thirsty, leave all of your pain,
What beautiful virtues and marvels you'll see;
For up in the heavens, where our Lord rules all,
He disperses virtues and gifts to his children;
And all of his power He's given to Christ.
4
The rod of great virtue, in Immanuel's hand,
Was passed down through ages, to Anointed men;
The day of remembrance is etched in our hearts,
Long ages transpired, and now to our fathers;
The great rod of Aaron is among us now.
