Thorns in the Heart I
Nguyen had habit sat on a chair to wait for his lover in the public
park, and a short distance from the front gate of the Old Bao-Dai
imperial area. Nguyen often sat on this chair to revere her with the
rotundity of a fine girl, watching her stepping with her slowly tender
action toward nearby and close him. He paid attention to her smile.
It looked like a flower in bud, and the petal was opening at the early
morning in the warm sunlight. Her plump wrist, healthy looking with
the seven golden rings were around it, and her hands were pretty
fingers of the obelisk-pen and soft.
Mong-Thuy-Hoa always took off her hat, sat closing Nguyen on
the chair with her full smile and asked.
"How long did you wait for me?"
Nguyen had habit looked at his watch.
"One hour."
"One hour only! I will let you waiting for me a little longer at the
next time."
"One hour was one century! How long do you want...? I will
do..."
Then they were laughed and stood up at the same time. They
left the chair, walked parallel side by side to Thong-Nhat boulevard,
turned left on the sidewalk at Old Bao-Dai imperial side. She often
talked about her classmates, teachers, and school. Nguyen always
discussed with her about war, life and family. Most of the time
Mong-Thuy-Hoa hid her smile behind her hat after she had heard
Nguyen talking indirect about his love, while she was stepping slowly
and glance at him.
In the summer afternoon, sometime Nguyen walked after her
about 5 or 6 feet to watch the red petals flowers of the student
trees, which were plying around her. The flowers were dropped out
of the branches and stopped on her hat, hairs by the light wind with
the rays of light Summer in the shadow. She often turned back and
standing to wait for him, gave him a glance love look, smile and
asked.
"What were you doing...?"
