Chaparral Elementary School
Chaparral Elementary is a unified community dedicated to building an environment that promotes the development of the whole child as a successful individual through collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creativity, compassion and citizenship. As a California Gold Ribbon School, Chaparral’s motto, “C.U.B.S.: A Community Unified Builds Success,” serves as a constant reminder that working together as a unified community ensures student success.
Chaparral’s vision has developed strong parent and grade level teams increasing communication, collaboration, and learning. Reading and writing workshops place a primary focus on student voice, choice, and develop a high level of literacy. In addition to strong academic programs, Chaparral offers fine arts, technology integration, student council, lunch clubs, and enrichment opportunities to meet the needs of all 635 students. A student, teacher, and parent comprised “Green Team” works collectively to teach and model green initiatives, raise environmental awareness and provide students with opportunities to preserve and protect precious resources, directly impacting their community.
