develop a professional director’s reel that will encompass different genres of media including music videos and commercials. The emphasis in Fim Production II will be in increasing the filmmaker’s skillset in story anallysis, screenplay writing, scene study, cinematography, lighting, sound, and post-production. In Film Production II students should expect to enter their finished projects in local and national student film festivals.

Beginning theater introduces the students to the background and traditions of theater. Students will be given the opportunity to act in a variety of scenes, cuttings, one-acts, monologues, original material and improvisations. The course is designed to let students practice the craft of acting, and to help them develop their imagination and creativity using various theater games and improvisations.

Emphasis placed on voice and movement for the stage. Units will include Story Theater for the elementary schools, individual concentrated work, and beginning directing. Students will perform for live audiences. Opportunities to learn about the theater and related industries as a profession will be provided. Students will receive guest lectures by professionals and be introduced to the “business of show business.” The course will provide further training and study in voice, movement, and directing. Students will study theater history and perform period pieces including an introduction to Shakespeare.

This course trains students in the fundamentals of acting for stage, film, television, & commercials. Students gain hands-on experience by performing in front of an audience at local community theatres and/or other professional performing arts venues. Students learn the practical, theoretical, & technical aspects of acting as well as develop strategies for marketing their talents & successfully navigating their careers. Training includes in-depth character work through scene study, script writing and analysis; cold-reading techniques, monologue work, improvisation & voice-over.
