trinity and the one true God. Look at the underlined words and we shall break it down and prove that the Athanassian Creed actually proves the oneness of the true God. The first underlined passage of words disproves the trinity as not being reality. “... the persons in the Trinity are not there separately sub-existing individuals.” Augustine understood the reality of the one true God. For example, look at the next passage of words underlined. “The divine substance is not an abstract generic nature common to all, but a concrete, living reality.”
The word substance is in reference of God in the form of Jesus. The definition of substance is as follows from Webster’s Seventh New Collegiate Dictionary, publishers – G. C. Meriam Company, copyright 1963. “Substance (n) 1a: essential nature: essence 2a: ultimate reality that underlies all outward manifestations and change d: an individual compounded of matter and form 3a: physical material from which something is made or which has discrete existence.” The word abstract from the same dictionary is defined: “abstract (adj.) 1a: disassociated from any specific instance b: difficult to understand; abstruse 2: expressing a quality apart from an object 3a: dealing with a subject in its abstract aspects: Theoretical b: Impersonal, detected Abstract: remove or separate.”
Augustine’s’ last statement is, “One and the same God is Father, Son, and Spirit.” There are no three persons in the Godhead of the Scriptures. There are three witnessed manifestations of who God is according to holy writ. Mankind’s philosophy and theoretical teachings have a way of persuading mans thinking into believing in something that is not biblical. We need to be aware of this according to Colossians 2:8-9, 8.) “Beware best any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9.) For in him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.”
Look at the definition of the word person according to the dictionary. One of the segments of the defined word reflects on the teaching as understood by the Trinitarians. Not Christ of the apostles’ doctrine.
“Person n 1a: a human being 2: Character 3a: one of the three modes of being in the godhead as understood by Trinitarians b. the unitary personality of Christ that unites the divine and human natures 4b. the body of a human being 5a: the individual personality of a human being: self b. bodily presence (appear in) The word personage is “a human individual: Person.”
The trinity existed in theory only. Their artwork and paintings depict the Trinitarian doctrine only. The trinity explains that God himself existed in forms of three separate and distinct Persons. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The doctrine of the Trinity is of the origin of the Catholic teachings only. Not biblically correct. One can look at their artwork and see where they portray as three people connected in some form or another.
