Keep in mind when this creed was actually written, along with the Didache. The dates do not correlate with the time period of the apostle’s day.
The comments following a few of the numbers of the creed are not meant to make fun of or slander. The remarks are meant for thought provoking only. Not every number has remarks afterwards. We do not adhere to the teachings of the Catholic doctrine. There is only one God, and one God only. Deuteronomy 6:4, “Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord”: Let’s take a look at the Athanasian Creed.
“The Athanasian Creed”
1.) Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the Catholic [True Christian] faith. [This does not say the Apostles or Disciples teachings given and taught by Jesus Christ.]
2.) Which faith except every one do keep whole and undefiled, without doubt he shall perish everlastingly.
3.) But this is the Catholic faith: That we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in unity; [This is the Catholic teaching, not the Apostles]
4.) Neither confounding the person; nor dividing the substance.
5.) For there is one person of the Father: another of the Son: another of the Holy Ghost.
6.) But the Godhead of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost is all one: the glory equal, the majesty co-eternal.
7.) Such as the Father is, such is the Son, and such is the Holy Ghost.
8.) The Father is uncreated: the Son is uncreated: [Colossians 3:10 refutes this as well as the birth of Christ. ‘Col. 3:10, “And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.” Col. 1:14-15, 14.) “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15.) Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creation:” Also read Ephesians 1:3-11] the Holy Ghost is uncreated.
9.) The Father is immeasurable: the Son is immeasurable: the Holy Ghost is immeasurable.
10.) The Father is eternal: the Son is eternal: The Holy Ghost is eternal.
11.) And yet there are not three eternals; but one eternal. [This is true. There is only one God.]
