To the question of the prophet, "to whom was the arm of the Lord revealed?" the ainswer is "...we beheld his glory, the glory as the only begot ten of the Father." Not many were those who knew this, for, as Paul explained: "«.had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord ofgilory"(ICorinthians2:8). ThegloryoftheonlybegottenoftheFather was the glory of the Father because Christ and the Father are one (in essence). (SeeJohn10:30;14:8-11;John17:5;)
God the Father was made visible through Christ, His Son, "being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person" (Hebrews 1:2- 3). The prophet Isaiah had already announced: "And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it" (Isaiah 40:5). (See John 14:1-9; Isaiah 35:2)
The role of the Son began when the Word of God was miraculously con nived in the virgin Mary, (dry ground) to become Jesus Christ, after the Holy Ghost came upon her and the power of the highest overshadowed her (Luke1:35). AfterthebirthofChrist,Godalsodeclared,"ThouartmySon,
tWs day have I begotten thee" (Hebrews 1:5; Galatians 4:4; Psalms 2:7; Hebrew 5:5).
"Son of" means "having the nature or character of"; therefore. Son of o meansthattheManChristhadtheverycharacterofGodintheflesh, bon of God draws attention to the deity and flesh for no one can be like God m ^ay, be equal with God or have God's complete character with-
^tbeingGodHimself(Isaiah44:6-8;46:9;48:11;44:24;John5:18). Christ's mie of only begotten (unique) Son of God actually tells us that He is God in His own flesh, for truly the word of God has become flesh.
