Confessions and Restitution are Enjoyed
Scripture declares, "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy" (Proverbs 28:13). Confessing,withoutforsaking,amountstonothing.

Christ set a spiritual standard when he said, "...if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there remembeiest that thy brotherhath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be rec onciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift" (Matthew 5:23-26).
To the Samaritan woman asking for the water of life, Jesus led her first in confession; He pointed to her marital infidelity, then she acknowl edged the wrong in her (See John4:15-29.)
There is No Repentance Without Forsaking Sins
For fear of idolatry and for the holiness of his people, God had forbid-
est^ (Psalm 51:4). Jesus Christ said that the Holy Spirit would convict manofsin. Man'sconscienceisbroughtthenintothepresenceofGod, and man says, "I have sinned." It is said that the bedrock of Christianity is repentance. The new life will manifest itself in con scious repentance and unconscious holiness.
• Paul conrunends the Corinthians' penitence in his second epistle for their "revenge" against sin, resulting from their "^)dly sorrow" (11 Corinthians 7:10-11), and tells about his "readiness to reven^ all dis obedience" when "their obedience is fulfilled" (U Corinthians 10:6).
