10-7 Eternity
A Time
Man is limited to a place and subject to time. He cannot be intwo places atatime. Therefore, heisnotthesame, todayandtomorrow.Everysecond and hour, from day to day are counted and recorded to add up into his age until he reaches the day he ceases to exist. God is unlimited and time is noth ingto Him. Moreover, sinceHeiseternal.Heisnotsubjecttotimebecause He is the creator of time. He is the Alpha and Omega. Jesus Christ is the all in all, never changing God. He is the same yesterday, today and forever
(Malachi 3:6; Colossians 3:11; Hebrews13: 8; Revelation 1:11).
B The Span of Eternity
It is difficult to estimate and is not wise to study to know how long eter nity is. It is the same as trying to measure the distance between the earth and heaven with a stick. Scientists tell us thatlight can travel 186,000 miles in one second. One light year is 6,000,000,000 miles. Therefore, a man who tries to imagineadistanceof1000billionlightyearsorhavingadistanceof 6,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 will be out of sight.
