they would be blinded and overcome, but they fought the evil spirits with the name of Jesus. Victory came, bring ing new courage and boldness to preach the gospel with power.
A sudden, loud knock on the door made Tekle and Erkenesh tremble; they thought their host had come to collect the overdue fees. A sergeant whom God had filled with His Spirit during the services stood before them. "Oh!" he exclaimed happily. "I am so glad to find you. I've looked for you all over town. Here is forty-nine birr in tithes that the Lord told me to give to you."
Thankfully, Tekle paid for their room, and they broke their long fast. The sergeant spread the word that he had found them.
The same day a couple invited them to teach the Word to a group of people gathered in the army camp. On enter ing the room, as Tekle and Erkenesh greeted each one witha handshake, all of them reacted as though they had touched a live electric wire.
They taught continuously for two days. Seven were delivered from demon possession, and eleven more re ceived the Holy Spirit. The community rose against them on the third day; military police arrested their host, fined him, and put him in jail for three days.
After a week in Negele the Lord instructed Tekle to return to A wasa and en route to be a witness in the towns He would show him.
Tekle found himself in a familiar predicament, with no moneyfor transportation or for lodging in the towns
that they would visit on the way.
The Lord answered their desperate prayer by telling
them to use the 250 birr from the sale of Bibles. He 101
