force them to drink brandy. Suddenly, a rival band came on the scene and fired into the crowd, leaving twelve of the agitators dead and several wounded. The injured saw that none of God's children had been hurt and realized the -wrong they had done. They began to repent andwere baptized, strengthening the church at Denbeb.
An angel opened the door to the -wllage of Borre in Jemjem Province. He appeared to Lotu, who had been sick for all of her eight years, and said, "If you wiU believe in the name of Jesus you will be healed. Have nothing to do with the idols of your witch doctor Moslem father. Do not believe as your parents do; obey them only in mat ters that are good and right, and vou will be the child of God."
She told her parents what had happened the next day. They saw plainly the effect of the healing touch but could not understand what had happened.
H e r f a t h e r held a high position as chief of all the witch doctors, and he announced a great celebration in honor of their many idols. He sent Lotu and her younger sister to the river to bring water for the heathen sacrifices. Three angels met them, and one spoke to Lotu. "Did I not tell you to have nothing to do with idolatry?" Hear ing his word, Lotu fell to the ground as one lifeless. Her frightened little sister ran sobbing to tell their parents what had happened.
Word spread rapidly through the town, and the whole -village came to see what had happened to Lotu. By this time she had received the Holy Ghost, and they found her rejoicing in other tongues. She immediately warned them not to come too near. "This is holy ground, for Jesus is here. Do not touch me with your defiledhands that have
