waited for hours for the body to cool so that it could be buried, but it did not. Finally, European missionarieswent to a larger town to get some insulation material. With that they eventually were able to place the body in the groxind. From that day, the whole countrysideexaltedthe name of Jesus and the church expanded freely.
Conference time for Jemjem Province had been planned in a church near Borre in August 1986. Because the building could not hold the three thousand people who came, the services were moved into the open air. Realiz ing the shortage of food, the leaders Degu (from Addis) and Godana (presbyter) declared, "This is a prayer and fasting conference."
Rich blessings flowed as a life-giving river, refreshing the believers throughout the conference to the closing ser vice. Afterwards the believers started walking toward those faraway places they called home. A group of thirty new converts going to Murri were attacked by spear wielding gangsters. At first they tried to defend them selves, with little success; then a spirit of boldness came over them. They snatched the spears out of the hands of their attackers and sent them running. A little girl who was with them ran back to warn the preachers who were following to take another route home to avoid the gangsters.
That night the thirty gathered at Godana's house, stitched their wounds together with needles and thread (for there were no clinics in that remote area), andprayed the rest of the night. The dawn found everyinjury com pletely healed as if the stitching had been done several days before.
