Tekle took the national examination for entrance to
the government high school, but he feared his score would be less than the required 70%. When a newspaper showed his name with a grade of 87.2% on a list of accepted students, he jumped up and down on the street and praised God with a loud voice. He did not care what anyone thought or said. No more eggs! The government would give him a grant that would provide food, lodging and an allowance for other needs.
Tekle's spiritual quest began in earnest after high school. He studied at the Lutheran Bible College for four years, completed correspondence courses offered by the Seventh Day Adventists and took two summer programs at the Mennonite Bible Academy in Nazareth. He rejected an offer for a degree program in a Lutheran school of theology because he was troubled by the human philoso phies the Lutherans taught and by their way of discredit ing biblical miracles.
He asked the dean of a Bible college, "Which one of all the Christian churches is the true body of Christ that will go in the Rapture?"
"Maybe in the end God will unite the good ones from all Christian churches and make them one church in the air," answered the dean.
Disappointed and grieved by the answer, Tekle returned to his room and wept in prayer, "0 Lord Jesus, please do not be angry with me. Out of the many church es who supposedly worship You, I beg You to reveal Your true church to me. And, dear Lord, until You give me the right answer and lead me to the true church, I will not attend any church; I will not read the Bible, nor will I
