books, destroyed those he could not sell and put his unread Bible away in a box.
His answer came a month later in a strange way. He h e a r d it only in his r i g h t e a r . " W a s n ' t P e t e r s a v e d ? W a s n ' t Paul saved? Were not all of the apostles saved? The doc trine that saved the apostles will also save you." The words repeated continually in his ear for three weeks, and he began a diligent search for a church that taught the apostles' doctrine.
An excited young man came to Tekle in 1963, telling him that God was literally pouring out the Holy Ghost as stated in the second chapter of Acts. "Many have received the Holy Ghost in Addis, even as Peter quoted from Joel the prophet: 'And it shall come to pass in the last days saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh.' You may have this gift if you are hungry."
"How can the Holy Ghost enter the heart of men?" Tekleargued. "He is the third person of the Trinity who possesses a distinct personality in the form of man. Haven't you read in Genesis 18 that the Trinity appeared to Abraham, ate and drank with him and had their feet washed? How on earth can you say that one of the Trini ty can be 'poured out' on men?"
"Let us forget the teachings of men," the young man insisted. "Believe with me that without a doubt the Holy Ghost is poured out on men. I have seen with my own eyes how the Spirit changes the lives of men after they receive the promise of God; I cannot doubt."
"Is this in my Bible?" Tekle demanded. "Can you show me this in my own Bible, or do you have another
