Constantine Received His Trinity Doctrine From Ancient Mystery Religions
Quoted in Wilson, op. cit., p. 168 “We committed an impious act, O Prince, by subscribing to a blasphemy from fear of you.” This quote was written to Emperor Constantine after the famous Council of Nicea when the Trinity Doctrine was enforced upon the Roman Empire. In other words we were afraid of you Emperor so we gave in to you and adopted the Trinity as our official dogma.
Like the solar cross and idols we find that Emperor Constantine also took the Trinity teaching from the many ancient mystery religions. History shows us that Constantine mixed a little bit of “Christian teaching” in with a lot of paganism and called it good!
Mithra as we have seen was one of the many names for the sun god of Constantine. Any serious student of history can confirm this fact. Constantine went through an initiation and was an active member of the ancient Mithraic mysteries. He worshiped this false god till his death. The teachings of this non-Christian mystery cult must have had a profound impact on the thinking of the Emperor. He was indoctrinated, as were many Romans by the many teachings of Mithraism. One of the crucial teachings was a doctrine of a trinity. Let us examine the historical evidence for this. Please study the following closely Constantine and his bishops were greatly indoctrinated.
The Mysteries of Mithraism by Franz Cumont Second Revised Edition 1903 New revisions 2007 ISBN 978-158509-283-3 pages 190-193 Informs us of the following historical facts: The following is talking about the similarities between Roman Catholicism and Mithraism “Like the latter, they also held Sunday sacred, and celebrated the birth of the Sun on the 25th of December, the same day on which Christmas has been celebrated, since the fourth century at least...We have seen that the theology of the Mysteries made of Mithra a “mediator” equivalent to the (Platonic) Alexandrian Logos. Like him, Christ also was a Logos, an intermediary between his celestial father and men, and like him (Mithra) he was one of a trinity. These resemblances were certainly not the only ones that pagan exegesis established between the two religions...”
Duane Duff Teacher and Researcher: “For over three hundred years the rulers of the Roman Empire worshipped the god Mithras. Known throughout Europe and Asia by the names Mithra, Mitra, Meitros, Mihr, Mehr, and Meher, the veneration of this god began some 4000 years ago in Persia, where it was soon imbedded with Babylonian doctrines. The faith spread east through India to China, and reached west throughout the entire length of the Roman frontier; from Scotland to the Sahara Desert, and from Spain to the Black Sea. Sites of Mithraic worship have been found in Britain, Italy, Romania, Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria, Turkey, Persia, Armenia, Syria, Israel, and North Africa.
In Rome, more than a hundred inscriptions dedicated to Mithras have been found, in addition to 75 sculpture fragments, and a series of Mithraic temples situated in all parts of the city.
One of the largest Mithraic temples built in Italy now lies under the present site of the Church of St. Clement, near the Coliseum in Rome.
The widespread popularity and appeal of Mithraism as the final and most refined form of pre- Christian paganism was discussed by the Greek historian Herodotus, the Greek biographer Plutarch, the Napoleonic philosopher Porphyry, the Gnostic heretic Origen, and St. Jerome the
