Definition of Terms Everyone falls into one of these Categories
A) Henotheism: One executive deity ruling over many subordinate deities. This theory teaches a hierarchy
of gods that answer to an elder god like Zeus king of the gods in Greek mythology.
B) Monotheism: The belief in only One God. The early Church believed in monotheism read James 2:19
Mark 12:29 1 Tim. 3:16 and Eph. 4:4-6.
C) Trinitarianism: The belief in three coequal Gods. This theory was forced upon humanity by Constantine and his Imperial Roman Catholic Church in 325 AD. Anyone who refused to believe in this man-made dogma was severally persecuted. All who believe in this non-biblical theory are in reality Roman Catholic. Quote “Rev. George Serle, Paulist Fathers, Pamphlet: “How to become a Catholic” States that: “If the Minister baptized you repeating the titles: of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, He did not make you an Episcopalian or Presbyterian, but he did make you a CATHOLIC...” A Catholic is someone who believes in or has been baptized into the Trinity! We find that this triadic theory can be traced back to ancient paganism.
D) Arianism: Gnostic Dualism Bitheism or some times called Unitary Monotheism: The belief in two Gods a higher and a lower subordinate deity. This is a Jehovah’s Witness teaching. The high-God “the one” cannot get involved in little human affairs so he sends his lesser “Logos” to earth to be his intermediary. Jesus is reduced into being a “little god” demigod or even just an angel. In this theory Jesus is not “God manifest in the flesh” but just a messenger boy for the high-God or gods like Mercury. It is based upon pagan Platonic “Logos” teachings. The Greek Platonic School received this type of teaching from both Asia Minor and the earlier Egyptian pagan theological teachings. Pharaohs were seen as the logos “Son of God” or “Son of the Sun-God” upon the earth. Both Origen (185-254) and Arius (250-336) of the Gnostic Alexandria Egyptian School were steeped into this type of warped pagan thought.
E) Polytheism: The belief in many Gods. Paganism Witchcraft Hinduism and Mormonism espouse polytheism. This is a teaching of the ancient “Mystery Religions”.
F) Atheist: One who does not believe in any deity. This theory is usually associated with humanism.
G) Agnostic: One who does not know if there is a God or not.
H) Deist: One who believes in dual cosmic universal deities which are usually indifferent toward humanity. Deities that co-exist like Gnostic Arianism only the two are equal in power. This theory is similar to the Asian Yin and Yang male and female light and dark opposite forces and the sci-fi “Star-Wars” “the Force” theory. This belief started in ancient Persia.
I) Pantheism: One that believes in the doctrine that all forces, manifestations, nature, animals, even humans all is God. Some times these folks are referred to as “tree huggers”. A divine spark lives within all this is ancient Wicca/Baal or nature worship. Sometimes in connection with this teaching there is a type of evolution teaching that promotes lower life forms will reincarnate to higher life forms, which in turn can become through many reincarnations and good karma gods or goddesses. The ancient Hindus Greeks Druids and Celtic pagans strongly espoused this teaching.
J) Gnostic or Gnosticism: One who mixes both pagan Jewish Christian and Eastern traditions all together. They often use non-inspired writings and hold them above the real Holy Scriptures. They invented the Allegorical Method of interrupting or twisting the Scriptures to say whatever they want them to mean. They believe that this world is an illusion created by an evil God that withholds wisdom. They believe that the goddess “Sophia” who was the serpent in the “Garden of Eden” is the real hero of humanity. In other words Satan is their hero. Esoteric “Knowledge” is the only path to salvation. They believe that there are many gods and that humans can become gods. Often above all the gods there are two high gods that coexist. Through their union they had a lesser logos god. These three put together form a triad or trinity. The School in Alexandria Egypt was one of many Gnostic centers.
