Biblical evidence for Jesus name baptism: A quick reference and study.
1. “IN THE NAME”-According to our modern day quote of Matt. 28:19. Note it says in the name singular not names plural. Also note no one was being baptized here in this verse. Father is a title for God as our Creator see Malachi 2:10. Jesus is our Creator come to the earth see John 1:10 and 1Tim. 3:16 therefore the name of the Father is Jesus. Note that Jesus bore and came in His Fathers name according to Isaiah 9:6; John 5:43; John 12:13, and John 17:16. Son is not the actual name but a title of Jesus Christ; Jesus is the name of Jesus, see Matthew 1:21 and Luke 1:31. The Holy Ghost is not a name but a title for God’s Spirit or presence. “God is a Spirit...” (John 4:24) and there is only “one Spirit” that is God see Eph 4:4-6; Eph 6:17 and “Now the Lord (Jesus) is that Spirit...” (2 Cor. 3:17) “...Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (Romans 8:9) “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matt. 18:20) How could this be? Easy Jesus is the Holy Ghost and he comes to all that come together in His name or invoke His name! Therefore the name of the Spirit of God, the Holy Ghost is Jesus! It is no wonder that the Holy Ghost comes only in the name of Jesus see John 14:26!
2. “AND IN HIS NAME (JESUS) SHALL THE GENTILES TRUST.”-According to Matt. 12:21. Not in the Catholic Trinitarian titles. Read Zec. 14:9 and Mal. 1:11.
3. “IN MY NAME (JESUS)”-According to Mark 16:15-17.
4. “IN HIS NAME (JESUS)”-According to Luke 24:47.
5. “BUT AS MANY AS RECEIVED HIM, (JESUS) TO THEM GAVE HE POWER TO BECOME THE SONS OF GOD, EVEN TO THEM THAT BELIEVE ON HIS NAME (JESUS):”-According to John 1:12.
6. “HE THAT BELIEVETH ON HIM (JESUS) IS NOT CONDEMNED: BUT HE THAT BELIEVETH NOT IS CONDEMNED ALREADY, BECAUSE HE HATH NOT BELIEVED IN THE NAME OF THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD.”- According to John 3:18.
7. “AND WHATSOEVER YE SHALL ASK IN MY NAME, THAT WILL I DO, THAT THE FATHER MAY BE GLORIFIED IN THE SON. IF YE SHALL ASK ANY THING IN MY NAME, I WILL DO IT.”-According to John 14:13-14.
8. “LIFE THROUGH HIS NAME (JESUS)”-According to John 20:31.
9. “IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST”-According to Acts 2:38. Over three thousand were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ at the beginning of the Early Church on the day of Pentecost ca AD 33 or 34 see Acts 2:41. Later over five thousand also “believed,” which heard the word see Acts 4:4. There is no doubt they were also baptized in the name of Jesus in obedience to Jesus’ teachings see Mark 16:16 Luke
