The adjudicator, Mark Dorrell, was very complimentary about Momentum’s e orts, and they received a Commended Award. Perhaps more rewarding though was the feedback from the audience, who clearly appreciated the strength of our young men, and were moved to tears by ‘Tell My Father’.
SING OUT – UNISON
Inspired by the punny naming of the Senior Choir, Momentum (emphasis on the ‘men’),
this year the Boys In Blue re red their former name and o cially rebranded as Unison (cue snare drum hit). As well as being strong with the puns, the rebranding provided an opportunity for new badges.
Throughout Terms 2 and 3, members worked on repertoire for the annual Invercargill Schools’ Sing Out, which this year was celebra ng its 75th Anniversary. Sing Out Rocks featured local performer and previous Southland Entertainer Of The Year
Simon Thompson, along with a choir of 200 students, bel ng out some of the biggest rock hits of the last 50 years.
As part of the programme, our singers Ruairidh MacCallum and Tom Waghorn were featured in the song Here I Go Again singing alongside Simon Thompson.
Unison sang John Farnham’s hit song You’re The Voice and were well received by the audience.
