SBHS ROCKETS BASKETBALL TEAM REPORT 2018
The year could be best summed up as: beat all teams in pool play but lost the nal.
Not bad for a team that could only get a third of its members to any prac ce. Other sports commitments, a er school jobs and transport issues meant that we never really had a full prac ce and struggled to get pa erns of play. The Team was an amalgam of Year 12 and Year 11 boys who got on very well together and had fun while being compe ve. The Team consisted of:
Corbyn Williamson:
Captain and most improved player – highest ver cal jump and fastest transi ons – “that wasn’t a foul”
Max Webb: MVP and season’s top point scorer – “known to pass the ball occasionally”
Callum Nimmo: Top rebounder for the Team – “normally got the shot in on the third go”
Sagun Kha ri Cha ri: A gi ed natural player – “we need to score – quick give it to ‘Goon’”
Eli Meuli: 3 pointer go to man – “don’t let him dribble”
Izaih Richards: Complete basket baller – terri c inside game – “he owned the paint”
Dylan Mahon: 3 pointer and great skills – “Eli give the ball to Dylan let him dribble”
Sam Pearsey: Compe ve and keen – “how many fouls did I score?”
Xavier Thompson: Compe ve rebound superb posi onal play – “how did I get that in the hoop and where is my hair e”
Aister Bellen: Our most technically able player and a reliable point scorer – “if he was there my pass would have been good”
A thank you to the Boys and their loyal supporters for a fun season where everyone had an important game.
