The Bombers File

     Formed: From 1911-1937 the Athletic teams at Rensselaer H.S. were known by an
                    “Indian” nickname/mascot (Fighting Iroquois, Warriors, Red & Black Warriors).
                    Beginning in the 1937-38 school year the nickname Bombers began to be used
                    for all sports teams.  The school began using the name Rensselaer-Central during
                    the 1961-62 school year.
