As one of Europe’s leading healthcare providers, it is our mission to deliver health,
contributing to the health and well-being of the people of Europe. Our corporate
responsibility however goes beyond that mission. As a company, we must
ensure that our growth creates value not just for us, but also for society and the
environment in which we operate.

As part of the wider PHOENIX Group the UK business is committed to our target of
becoming CO2-neutral by 2030 in our own operations.

Our sustainability agenda has five focus areas and provides the framework for
our sustainability management:

• Climate protection
Development and implementation of a climate strategy.
• Resource cycling
Commitment to reuse, reduce and recycle wherever possible.
• Responsible supply chains
Development and establishment of processes integrating human
rights and environmental due diligence along our value chain.
• Diversity, equal opportunities and inclusion
Promoting social diversity among employees and executives.
• Social engagement
Linking our donation activities more closely with our core business.

To support our sustainability goals, we have many emission reduction projects
in progress across our network, here are some of the highlights:

• Our own generation of electricity, through the installation of solar panels at
suitable sites, including our largest UK distribution depot in Wakefield.

• Optimisation of our transport routes to increase fuel efficiency. Supporting
positive driver behaviour with driver efficiency and safety training.

• Following the successful installation of LED lighting across our wholesale
estate, Installation of LED lighting systems across our retail estate.

Regardless of our individual roles, each of us has the power to contribute to
the sustainability of our business and the protection of our planet for future
generations. By working together and making conscious choices, we can ensure
a thriving future for both our company and the world we share.
