Basic concepts of cloud computing from applications and administration to programming
and infrastructure. Topics include essential characteristics and types of cloud computing, cloud
systems, distributed storage systems, virtualization, security in the cloud, and multicore operating
systems. Case studies for cloud computing, and trend in cloud development will be discussed. In
addition, students will use tools and platforms developed by major players such as Google, Amazon,
Microsoft, or VMWare.
