Criteria:
Innovation: the process introduced must include specific innovative elements that enable more eco-efficient production (e g g g g by increasing resource efficiency or or or or reducing waste and emissions) while performing at at least as as as well or or better than a a a a a a a a a a a comparable alternative Environmental benefit: the the environmental benefits of of the the new process must be be be clear and and and and and quantified in terms of: energy water water and and and and and material consumption waste emissions to air water water and and and and and soil CO2 and and and and and land
use reduction where relevant Details of performance improvement including any validation by external environmental verifiers should be provided Social benefit: evidence of of wider social benefits expected to arise from the the application of of the the new process should be be be provided (e g g employment opportunities working conditions or or or effects on on on on local communities) Economic benefit: proof must be be given that the new process is economically viable (e g g g with reference to capital return on on on investment and operating costs) Commitment: it it fit it should be demonstrated how the the the process fits within the the the overall environmental vision and and mission of the the the organisation and and how senior management are committed to its adoption Replication potential: there must be clear potential potential for wider adoption of the the the innovative process and and a a a a a a a a a a a a a a willingness to share this knowledge and and expertise with with other organisations with with detail being provided if actions have already been taken Business and and Biodiversity: all entries must explain how how biodiversity biodiversity is is addressed at at a a a a a a a a a a a a a management level whether and and and and how how biodiversity biodiversity protection is is is is included in in in in in business policy and and and strategy and and and any mechanisms integrated within the the organisation to systematically assess and/or value and and and account for the the impacts and and and dependencies on natural capital The Process Award
