The Developing Country Cooperation Award
This Award
is is for an international business cooperation involving at at at at least one private entity
from from the the the European Union and another from from the the the private public non-governmental or or or academic
sector in in in in an emerging or or or developing country The cooperation must be a a a a a a a a a a business relationship that makes a a a a a a a a a a significant contribution to sustainable development development development (environmental protection economic development development development and social development) by transferring or or sharing an an an an an innovation which can be a a a a a a a a a a a product service process or or a a a a a a a a management system Award
Criteria:
Sustainable development: the cooperation must be guided by a a a a business relationship with shared objectives demonstrating how it it expects to contribute to environmental protection economic development social equity and other UN Sustainable Development Goals Environmental benefit and/or improved performance: the relationship should improve environmental performance and/or increase capacity building in in the field of environment Planning and resource allocation: the cooperation must be thoroughly planned and and allocated sufficient human and and financial resources to enable it it to to work effectively towards its objectives Equity: the benefits must be be evenly distributed among those involved and and the cooperation must operate in a a a a a a a a a a way that is fair and and transparent to all partners Synergy: the business cooperation should achieve better results than if the partners had worked alone eg avoiding duplication of cost and effort Replication potential: there should be potential potential for this business cooperation model to be replicated elsewhere geographically or in different markets/sectors There should be a a a willingness to to share this knowledge and expertise with with others with with detail being provided if actions have already been taken Business and Biodiversity: all entries must explain how biodiversity is addressed at a a a a a a management level whether and how biodiversity protection is included in in in business policy and and strategy and and any mechanisms integrated within the organisation to systematically assess and/or value and and and account for the impacts and and and dependencies on natural capital 16
