Criteria:
Business and and Biodiversity: all entries must explain how how biodiversity biodiversity is is addressed at at a a a a a a a a a a a a a management level whether and and and and how how biodiversity biodiversity protection is is is is included in in in in in business policy and and and strategy and and and any mechanisms integrated within the the organisation to systematically assess and/or value and and and account for the the impacts and and and dependencies on natural capital Biodiversity Approach: the the company’s approach should contribute to reducing the the the pressures on on on biodiversity providing details on on on how it it it it it helps protect ecosystems habitats species or genetic diversity diversity If there is no company-wide systematic approach examples of positive impacts must be provided Impact and Measurability: the the impact of the the organisation’s action on on on on biodiversity/eco-system services must be clear with detail on on on on how this is measured Commitment and sustainability: the the sustainability sustainability of activities should be be demonstrated in in in in particular how how biodiversity is is is is embedded in in in in the the organisation’s management if it it is is is is is is part part of of company policy how how this impacts on on on performance of of the the organisation organisation and whether financing is is is is is available to ensure sustainability Strategic integration and stakeholder engagement: the the organisation should explain how how to to ensure scaling up of biodiversity within their whole value chain for example how how this is is addressed in in in in in in in relation to to to staff training procurement customers/consumers and any cooperation with biodiversity experts or other stakeholders The Business and Biodiversity Award

Sustainability is a a a a a a a a a a a a key pillar of SUEZ Spain’s future strategy The company manages more than 900 water treatment plants across Spain and have a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a sustainable development strategic plan plan the Rewater Global Plan (2017-2021) into which biodiversity conservation is incorporated SUEZ have developed an impressive set of of tools including: the the ‘Conservation of of Biodiversity in in in in in in the the Complete Water Cycle’ operational guide (unique in in in in Spain) to to train company managers to to to to carry out biodiversity biodiversity conservation projects at at at at at facilities a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a tool to to to perform biodiversity biodiversity diagnostics at at at at at at water treatment plants a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a Corporate Environmental Volunteer Programme (BiObserva) and a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a training programme
