CLUB NEWS, INTEREST GROUPS & COMMITTEE REPORTS / FEBRUARY 2017
Landscape Commi ee Report
Gary Wostak who have taken the time to meet with us and provide their valuable expertise. Their input has been a big help.
We have noticed mistletoe growing in some trees on private property. We’re not snooping, it’s easy to spot! Go ahead and stand under the tree with someone and kiss them, but then please get it removed. It spreads quickly if not controlled. We also have noted trees with mistletoe that have had it re- moved already and we appreciate it. You all received an email in December regarding maintenance of parkways and parkway trees. Basically, if you have a home with a parkway (Park Palisades, Blossom Ridge, Copper Crest, River Birch, and Birchcrest) you need to maintain it, but you can’t prune the tree or add additional plantings or hardscape. That’s the responsibility of the Association. We all appreciate your efforts to maintain your park- way, especially the shade that the trees provide in the summer.
The Landscape Committee meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 2:00 p.m., and all residents are welcome to attend.

Report
Plahn Landscape has been
our landscape contractor since November 1st with impressive results. Plahn has submitted an extensive report to the Landscape Committee (and will continue
with monthly reports) noting work accomplished and making recom- mendations for improvements. The irrigation system has been inspected throughout Solera and repairs have been made including installation of correct sprinkler heads where needed. Recommen- dations have been made for tree pruning and planting, shrub removal and planting, and improved spray- ing. We especially appreciate the flowers planted at the corner of Highway 178 and Miramonte, and in front of the fountain at Park Place and Miramonte! The Land- scape Committee is working on improvement proposals for the Solera common areas with an emphasis on the three entryways. We want to accomplish as much as possible within reasonable expenses. As you can imagine, the Solera budget is always of utmost importance. We would like to acknowledge Pat DiCicco and
