2010-2014 It just got Better and along came the patter of very Tiny Paws
We settled into Begonia Street extremely well, refurbishing and setting up home as if we had been living together forever. We continued to travel, work, and enjoy all those things that happy couples do together.
The year 2014 will be without doubt the most memorable, the long-awaited fulfilment of an event neither one of us could ever have imagined. We got married on the 18 May 2014 on the most beautiful day imaginable. We never planned marriage; it did not occupy our conversations, it just evolved. The catalyst, if any, was Carrie’s parents. As they were ageing, we felt if we ever were to marry this would be the moment whilst they were alive and able to attend, also it would make them very happy, not to mention my mother if she had still been alive.
It was a stunning sunny day, 23 C, the location was a local park known as Gaiarine Gardens, Pagewood, a short walk from our home. It had to be seen to be believed. The park has a pergola that has a canopy of beautiful green leaves in spring and summer, and in autumn they turn various shades of red. We saw it immediately as “Our Chuppah”, a Jewish tradition, a canopy under which a Jewish couple stand during their wedding ceremony. In addition, we had the Temple’s ritual chuppah cloth attached to four posts, each one of which was held by one of my grandchildren. Perfect!
