2014-2020 The Journey Continues
We settled into a life of family, togetherness, holidays, recreational boating, my fishing, and work with both of us working from home. Carrie commenced “Carrie On Cruising”, her Cruise Travel Agency in 2009. We both realised how much we has previously missed the joy of being in a loving and happy relationship. It added a new dimension to our lives which neither one of us had experienced.
2014 brought about a new challenge and opportunity. On one of Carrie’s walks she noticed a sign at the end of Myrtle Street alongside the golf course. For the proposed development of a home unit building. It was the distribution centre for Hardy’s Wine. One of the last remaining industrial sites in our precinct. The site ran from Myrtle street through to Bay Street. It was proposed to build 3 buildings housing a block of 10 on 3 storeys, a block of 24 on 6 storeys and 7 townhouses. We attended the first buy off-plan inspection held in a mock-up office on site. We both made the unprecedented decision to secure a top 5th floor 2-bedroom unit, by paying a deposit, we loved the position, view, and design concept. The fun and games started from that day on, researching previous work done by the builder, the legal process especially buying off-plan, watching the building go up storey by storey almost daily, and planning the sale of our own home to coincide with our move.
The building was completed in September 2015 and all three of us took up residency in our new home. The next few years was spent adding improvements, it tested our resolve and commitment all of which proved how well we lived and worked together. We have a beautiful home with magnificent views over the city skyline and golf course, and the sun does shine.
Carrie and I continue to enjoy our life together, sharing the trials and tribulations of life, family, caring for Carrie’s parents, running our own individual businesses
