A. The Nature of Creativity
1. Definitions of Creativity
Creativity is regarded as one of the most complex of
human behaviors. It can be influenced by a wide array of
social, developmental and educational experience that leads
to creativity in different ways in a variety of fields. Creativity
has been a topic in psychological and educational research
for decades. Creativity remains an elusive concept, which is
why there are many different definitions and theories about
what creativity is and how it emerges in children.
For the purposes of this topic, I will choose some
definitions that can help us understand it better.
Creativity is the process of thinking and responding
constructively to existing ideas and making them new
(Torrance 1993). According to Starko (2005) In either case,
most definitions have two major criteria for judging
creativity: novelty and appropriateness.
