A. The Correlation
The more words a child knows, the more effectively
they read and the more effectively they learn – whatever the
subject. Vocabulary is so influential, in fact, that educational
psychology pioneers identified it as the single greatest
indicator of overall intelligence.
Vocabulary equals understanding. As anyone who
has ever struggled through a jargon-packed legal contract
knows, vocabulary knowledge is absolutely crucial to
successful reading. By knowing more words allows readers
to understand more texts. Schmitt (1977) emphasized that
lexical knowledge is central to communicative competence
and to the acquisition of a second language.
In other side, Munandar (2012) explained that
creativity as a general ability to create new relationship
between elements which have been provided. By seeing the
theories above, it indicated that there is a significant
correlation among vocabulary mastery, creativity and the
ability on mastering and using the language skills. In doing
