India is a vast and great country with a huge potential for the development of tourism. India is full of a number

offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, London, Geneva, Paris, Frankfurt, Brussels, Stockholm,
Milan,Vienna, Kuwait, Bangkok,Tokyo, Singapore and Sydney. In addition, tourist promotion offices are based
at Dallas, Miami, San Francisco, Washington, Qsaka, Melbourne, Dubai and Kathmandu.

Defining the tour operator is a far from easy process because their role, activities and form have changed
dramatically from the early days when Thomas Cook first organised package trip by rail in the 1840’s. One
useful approach is to identify what a tour operator does as a mean of establishing their characteristics and form.
In simple term a tour operators will organize, package together different elements of the tourism experience and
offer a package, also known as an inclusive tour.
