Page 36 - Poetic Journey For America's Veterans
P. 36

 By Sam Weaver
At Golden Center Judy
Played and I read my poem taps Hoping Jesus would
Bring healing perhaps
It's a sad piece of Music in many ways For it represents
So many sad days
A young lady who works there We have come to know
With a beautiful
Loving caring soul
She's dedicated to
Meeting the people's needs And assembles them
In the front room and reads
But Judy and I learned
Of another time
That haunted her
In the depths of her mind
And Army Chaplin's Assistant she used to be And taps haunted her
It was easy to see
The residents here
We hope to bless it's true But this time Emely
This blessing's for you
Emely may taps bring your Thoughts to the one that can save And disannulled death
Beyond the grave
At Golden Center Judy
Played and I read my poem taps Hoping Jesus would
Bring healing perhaps
