Page 37 - Poetic Journey For America's Veterans
P. 37

 They retired old Huey
But many Vets still get stirred When they remember
That tough old bird
When battles raged and they Had nothing but a prayer That familiar sound came And old Huey was there
Huey was built and driven By man it's true
But for what it represents This poem gives it its due
For all our heroes
Of so long ago
Whose hearts through this poem I feel that I know
Jesus how many times
Their past must have tuned in To when old Huey
Came and got them
They retired old Huey
But God knows to these men When they retired Huey They retired an old friend
They retired old Huey
But many Vets still get stirred When they remember
That tough old bird
Proverbs 8, Verse 12.
