poison which acts as a powerful digestive enzyme into the prey. The digestive enzyme liquidizes the
intestines of the prey. Wasps and scorpions use their stingers to inject the poison into the prey
where jellyfish use their tentacles.
Predators and prey both use camouflage in nature. There are different types of camouflage. Animals
have the same colouring as the surroundings. Desert animals will be brown and forest animals will
be green. Example of an animal using this type of camouflage is lions. Counter-shading is another
form of camouflage. It is when the top of the animal body is dark and the bottom is light. It gives the
animal a flat image and difficult to spot. Impala is an example of an animal using counter-shading
camouflage. Disruptive camouflage is the third type of camouflage. It is when an animal has spots or
stripes that is in contrast and non-repetitive. Zebras and tigers fall into the disruptive camouflage
group.
