Hotel Aesthetics
My wife travels appreciatively more than I do. She is a woman of fine taste, class, and
comfort. Where I on the other hand, can sleep at a Motel 5-1/2 (Not even a 6) and be
quite comfortable because I do not plan on staying in my room throughout the entirety
of my stay. However, my wife brought up a very good point one day as we were
discussing hotel accommodations. That salient point being, what if there is inclement
weather or you just want to relax around the hotel? Wouldn’t you want to be in an
aesthetically pleasing environment where the service is top-notch? Well, I could not
argue with her there. And for that reason, I would grade the Waldorf Astoria Panama
City an 11 on a scale of 10. Everything one would expect from a five star rated hotel,
the Waldorf Astoria Panama City is. From the modern design to the antiseptic-like
cleanliness to the customary amenities of restaurant, spa, gym, fantastic room views
and pool, to the personalized treatment one receives from all of the staff, this is truly a
beautiful hotel. The only suggestion I would make would be regarding the hotel’s
signage. Because it is off the main thoroughfare, and is literally on a side street, it
would help to have bigger and brighter signage making its presence more distinct and
prominent. Of course if you look hard enough one can always find something to
complain about. The only downside to my stay was the poor television connection
service. The television signal in the rooms and the bar would continuously drop off. It
was more of an annoyance than anything else. Other than that, I had a thoroughly
enjoyable stay where I felt safe and secure in and around the hotel.
