Location of the Hotel
The location of the Waldorf Astoria is in the downtown area of Panama City. It is nestled in between many high rises, which permeate the area and adds to the ample skyline that has no rivals. Although it is not on that the main strip of Balboa Avenue, its location is central to many of the attractions off and on the main thoroughfare. What’s more, many of the aforementioned activities are either within walking distance, a free hotel car ride, or an inexpensive taxi or UBER ride away. If you recall the ordeal I mentioned earlier in this article regarding the car rental and GPS troubles my wife and I experienced trying to get from the airport to the hotel, I cannot impress upon my fellow tourist compadres any stronger than this:
DO NOT RENT A CAR IN PANAMA CITY!
Because of the heavy traffic and ongoing construction, coupled with the close
proximity to many of the attractions, there is no need to rent a car. Moreover, the
citizens who do drive in Panama City are the only people uniquely qualified to drive
these streets. It is something you must experience to have total appreciation. I will
leave it at that.
