Fruit of the Vine | June 2021 FRUIT OF THIS DIGITAL AGE
In March, we marked the one-year anniversary of the launch of the new CGSAC website. With its updated design and interactive
features, the website has offered new opportunities for supporting catechists and sharing the good news of our work across Canada.
Coincidentally, the launch of the website happened right at the beginning of the Covid lockdown. All of a sudden, communicating digitally became even more essential as a way to keep members connected and supported.
One goal of the website is to offer resources and opportunities for engagement for catechists across Canada. A new interactive, members-only Forum enables conversations and sharing of photos, ideas, and news. Members can create individual profiles and comment on one another’s posts. Over the past year, we hosted two book studies through the Forum and six evenings of prayer over Zoom. A special collection of resources, including Covid guidelines, is available on the site to help
members stay up-to-date. Most recently, we invited our community to share in a nine-day novena leading up to Good Shepherd Sunday on April 25.
The website also brings to the forefront the growth and scope of the Catechesis across Canada. An interactive “Find an Atrium” page allows visitors to search by province, level, and denomination; they can also click on a map of Canada to see all the atriums at once. Detailed information about course offerings is also available, with online registration. Beautiful galleries of photos and artwork show the fruit of our efforts to help children fall in love with God!
Out of a total of 220 active members in 2020, so far eighty-nine have logged in to the Members Area to connect with the Association and with one another. We encourage all members to set up a profile in the Members Area and join the conversation. You can also stay in touch and up-to-date through our Facebook page and discussion group: facebook.com/cgsac.ca
