attraction to USA in some fashion and then started applying for work in USA through postal mail. One organization visited Wellington, New Zealand for recruiting people for a particular project. Though I had not applied for this job, but I happened to meet the interviewing officer coincidentally and she interviewed me. I was chosen. And, my visa procedures for USA started, as a candidate from New Zealand.
I remember that my father asked one of his close disciples to connect to me by phone. That was the only call my father made from India to me. On the phone we could barely hear each other. My father asked me how I liked my visit to USA and I told him it was great. That was the last time I spoke with my father. Some months later, I received a telegram stating that my father would likely die in two weeks and I had a chance to see him if I wish. My visas were being processed and I was concerned that my visit to India might spoil my chances of going to the USA if the visas were processed in the Mumbai office rather than in the Wellington office. I did not go to Pune. My father passed away on 21 January 1988. I went to the USA in May 1988. Later, I was fired from my job for being outspoken and had to return to New Zealand with my wife and two children. We went through 3 months of extreme hardship and then I worked in Australia for two months, where I feel I was misled or cheated by my employer. I kept my Yoga practice alive throughout all this time and I was able to secure another job in the USA in October 1988. This job later resulted in my becoming US Citizen in 1997. I worked in Information Technology industry very actively till 2006. I held very good positions, enjoyed all goodies of life, travelled to many places within USA, put my daughters to highest quality sports and schools. I can honestly say I experienced all the material enjoyments to my satisfaction. But, most importantly, my Yoga studies became stable, and my ideas
