President/CEO Denise Marzullo has definitely been hitting the road over the past few
months visiting one child care provider after another. The Early Learning Coalition of
Duval currently serves more than 11,600 children in 350 child care centers, 171 family
child care homes and 65 private centers and schools.
“I am keenly aware of the pivotal role the ELC plays in a center’s success. The decision
each director makes plays a role in whether that center achieves excellence, whether
it is hiring, supervision, professional development, or performance… and we want to be
there for them every step of the way,” says Marzullo.
“It is truly awesome to visit and talk to the directors and staff members but, of course,
the children are the icing on the cake. Seeing them interact with one another and take
pride in their learning can’t be beat.”
Often, members of the ELC of Duval staff will join Denise on her road trips.
