Beautiful reunion of these two Spanish calendars, published here for the first time under
the title Guía Politicas de las Esañas or “Political Guide of Spain” during the Napoleonic
invasion to the Peninsla, bound in two exquisite period artistic bindings. The calendar,
which had been published uninterruptedly in Madrid since 1722, suffered the ravages of
war and during the invasion of the Napoleonic army; it didn’t appear in 1809 and 1810,
and by 1811 it leaved the printing house of D. Miguel Segovia to the Island of Leon, in
Cádiz. The text includes some patriotic ephemeris of the main events that have occu-
rred during the war against the French.
