Congratulations
MELVIN CUMMINGS
On behalf of your nephew, nieces, their spouses, and grandchildren we extend a heartfelt
congratulations to our uncle, Mr. Melvin Calloway Cummings. The longevity of Mr. Cummings
spiritual walk with Christ and your faithfulness to the Methodist church is a testimony of your
leadership, faith, love, and dedicated work in the community. Our family recognizes the
encouragement, love, and support you provided to us. You are a man who has been a faithful and
devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, church trustee, steward, usher, architect, business
man, educator, fine artist, and community leader. Your support to your daughters Shataye and
Oneika in their educational pursuits, in building their families, and growing in service within their
respective neighborhoods as registered nurse and education activist is a testimony to your work as
a dad. As a brother, you stood by and supported your sister Willie Mae Williams in raising her
four children, Arlether, Otto, Kathy, and Ruanda – a herculean task that many men would have
walked away. Yet your love, dedication, and no nonsense approach enabled these young people
to grow into responsible adults serving our nation as an intelligence analyst, a professional
musician, artist, nurse, community diversity spokesperson. Well done Uncle – well done.
