“Very good.”
Corin sat observing the computer equipment in the center of the room surrounded by a semicircle of 53 chairs.
“Good morning, Corin,” Tom said, breaking Corin’s concen- tration walking into the room with Paul. Both stopped at the door to wait further instructions as Corin noticed Paul’s obvious fear by the vibration of his pants.
“Start from the top, Tom, and give me a rehearsal based on the scenarios you have been working on.”
“You don’t want me to give you an overview first?” quizzed Tom, walking between the tables to get to the center of the room with cards in his hand.
“Yes, but make it brief. I understand most of this stuff, and I’m a quick study.”
Tom and Paul started to set up the cards labeling the parts of the system for ease of explanation. After ten minutes the two went into their rehearsed presentation.
“That’s enough, Tom,” Corin responded. Read these new scenarios and act out a presentation based on them.”
Tom read the scenarios with Paul and made their presenta- tion as Corin took notes.
“That’s good.” I have some questions, but my men are wait- ing. Give them the presentation you just gave me.”
“No problem, Corin,” Tom said.
“When you two finish the main presentation, we will eat, then you can give me the special presentation.”
Tom and Paul knew that meant showing Corin how the killers would be utilized on the program. Both men moved out of the center of the circle as the doors were opened letting in Corin’s men.
Each man was seated and immediately engaged in side conver- sations. Suddenly both doors opened and each man’s choice of lunch and drinks were served. Afterwards, Corin made his opening speech and motioned Tom and Paul back to the center. Before Tom started, Corin asked everyone to allow the presentation to be completed
