“I know what you’re thinking, and you know I won’t change my mind,” Seige told him.
“You can’t blame a guy for trying. Besides, I really wanted to jump,” Brock revealed.
“I know you want to raid the rook,” Seige admitted, placing his arm around Brock’s shoulder, “but you know it has to be this way. Unfortunately being my best man and DEA makes your presence almost imperative at the manufacturing point.”
Brock smiled helping Seige collect his parachute and carry it toward the truck.
“I hate it when you make so much sense,” Brock chuckled. “You know I won’t let you down. If you’ll excuse me I need to grab my crew and move out.”
He gathered the drop zone team and loaded his men on a truck headed for the urban warfare practice area. After conduct- ing a headcount and telling the driver to head out, Brock fell into deep thought.
“Now that I won’t be jumping in, I guess I can get on with kicking some ass. I need to take care of these guys the way Seige did. I can’t afford to let them down. It’s amazing how much like brothers we have become. They’re intuitive and do what they know must be done unlike some of the sillyvillians out there. Seige’s right. Families have nothing to do with blood.”
Brock had been sitting in a daze oblivious to the side con- versations going on around him about the mission. He suddenly came out of his dreamlike state as the urban warfare practice area came into view.
The driver pulled toward the gate, and Brock jumped from the truck to unlock it. The truck pulled in and continued toward the buildings as he closed the gates and started to walk toward his truck, another truck appeared behind him. A passenger dis- mounted, opened the gate for the truck, and closed it once the vehicle passed through. Brock’s truck moved as he turned and jumped on the running board.
