IX The Deal between Wrong and Wrong
The malls seemed more crowded than usual with the hustle and bustle of activity. Sales were running rampant and consumers were being attracted to them like flies. A lone, well- dressed figure walked the mall trying to understand the age-old question: Why do so many people want to waste their lives on drugs of any kind. Try as he did, Matthew could not comprehend the concept.
“And that’s why you are losing the battle,” he said to him- self, pausing to look at a television monitor showing the latest statistics of the drug, Blue Heaven.
“And now, the latest news on Blue Heaven the fastest grow- ing designer drug since the discovery of pot,” the news announcer said. “In the short time we have known of its existence, it has killed. . . .”
Matthew walked away before the numbers appeared on the screen. He did not want to come to terms with it.
“By my acts, I am just as guilty as the maker of that poison,” he thought to himself. “I should be locked up in the same cage with the buyers. Maybe I am not responsible for the drug in its present form, but I am certainly not blameless. I’ve got to turn this situation around.”
