just been cooped up in an office getting fatter and being bored into depression. Making Matthew look bad is my revenge because no matter what happens to the team, I want his head to roll.
“I guess it’s my turn,” said Corin. “I almost didn’t come alone because I thought this might be a trap. But I listen very intently and after getting over the shock, I decided you were actually worthy of my trust. We are now brothers under the skin. Enjoy your future retirement, Dan, and here’s the money.”
“Enjoy your revenge,” Dan returned, handing Corin an en- velope.
“Suppose I could use your services again. How would I reach you?”
“Call this number, and I will get in touch with you. And next time you will know who it is, won’t you.”
Both men looked at each other smiling. After finishing their drinks, Corin stood up to walk away. Dan finished his drink and ordered another. Corin reaffirmed his revenge on everyone who had anything to do with his daughter’s death as he held the en- velope tightly in his grip.
A few weeks passed. Corin was immediately curious about the status of his project. He had always feared Tom just a little. Regardless of what his assignment was, Tom had shown no fear. His daughter Tina saw it too, that’s why he became her right arm. Corin knew that if there was a way to save her from herself, Tom was the answer.
“It didn’t work. I know Tina’s death was probably not Tom’s fault, but what right did he have to be living while she was dead? No matter. There is now someone Tom cares about, and that will make revenge even sweeter.”
He decided to call Tom.
“Hello?” came the voice of Nathan.
